The history of facial oil blotting paper starts in Japan centuries ago. In the 16th century Japanese discovered the benefits of oil blotting paper for keeping the complexion oil free.

The paper made of Abaca leaves was originally used to make a delicate gold leaf. Gold artisans gave the used paper to Geisha in Kyoto. They used it to maintain their flawless skin as it was able to absorb facial oil without disturbing make up. Today oil blotting papers are produced from various materials – abaca leaves, hemp, softwood pulp, rice paper. Our oil blotting papers are made of the mixture of softwood pulp and hemp.

Hemp has natural absorbing properties and its molecular structure works well to ensure excess oil absorption from the face. In our paper with green tea extract, we have used natural green tea granules. No additional scents or artificial cosmetic additives.
