Black Cow Deluxe Cheddar is made from the milk of cows that graze the fields surrounding the Black Cow Farm in West Dorset. Aged for 12 months in thick black wax, this cheese has an incredibly intense and rich flavour with a satisfyingly crumbly texture.
This very special Dorset cheese is made by separating milk into curds and whey. The curds make our Deluxe Cheddar, and the whey goos on to make the exceptionally smooth Black Cow Pure Milk Vodka.
Dairy farmer Jason set up Black Cow with artist and director Paul Archard back in 2012. As a member of the Barber family, a family of cheesemakers with over 180 years of cheesemaking history, Jason knows a thing or two about making cheese.
