Aleppo Chilli Flakes are juicy chilli flakes made from semi-dried, finely ground Halaby peppers. Named after the Syrian city of Aleppo, they’ve got a subtle heat, an earthy smokiness and a light fruity tang. Chilli is best used sparingly, at the start of cooking. Chilli is used in African, Indian, Chinese, Mexican and West Indian Dishes.
Also known as pul biber.
The Aleppo chillies are dried and flaked, providing a moderate heat and distinct fruity flavour.
These can be used in place of any chilli to add an authentic Mediterranean kick.
